@Shawn – Sounds like a bristleworm, again part of your clean up crew. There good at eating all the detritus in your rockwork. Have a good weekend all!

  • Mike M says:

Amphipods, phytoplankton, and cooepods are the base of the old reef tank food pyramid. Remember that from grade school?

  • shawn says:

Was also wondering what methods there are to promote the grouth of ampipods and cooepods specificly in a new tank

  • Jesse says:

My tank is 5 months old now “including cycle which took 1 month” so 4 monts after cycle, I havent seen any of these little guys yet at all, been looking like crazy, is my tank still to young? Is having these little guys somthing that will always happen? should I jump start them buy buying some to put in the tank? Sorry for all the questions just really excited about it, thank you.

  • Byron says:

Seeing those creatures means that your tank/system is alive.

  • Nick Vento says:

So not seeing them means somthing’s wrong?

  • Werner says:

    Hello,
I don’t see the tunze wavebox anymore in your tank.

    Did you ditch it?

  • Werner says:

how do you like the vortech?

  • Steve says:

    Mark:

Thanks for all you offer. I have a 125 gallon reef with medium load and EcoSystem Refugiam. I want to get the SWC 160 but the last chamber in the refugaim is only 6″ and too small for the Skimmer. Either I need to go with an external or rework the refugiam to reduce the mud/algae area. What are your thoughts and THANK YOU!

  • Jim V says:

I believe I have absolutly no amphipods, copepods in my tank seems unusual to me. So how can I get them growing?
