That’s a great tip. Nothing more annoying than bringing home or ordering the wrong bulkhead and it does not fit properly..

Great tip. I also learned the hard way that the pipe size of unions are the same but different manufactures will have different size threads. So if for need to replace a half of a union, make sure the threads will screw together before you glue.

yes yes yes. great tip. I’ve mixed bulk heads before had a 30g cube leak 15-20 gallons on to my bedroom floor at 3 in the morning. not fun, and I was lucky it didn’t get to the hard wood floors in the hall.

  • Great tip Mark! How’s the tank running?

  • Jeff…you’ll find out soon.

  • Kevin…I’d switch if the rest of my country would just follow along!

  • Sweet! Looking forward to it.

I am starting my first (pre-) drilled tank after years of HOB overflows. The LFS recommended a bulkhead standpipe loc line boxed combo to accompany the tank. This video, while helpful, makes me nervous that the bulkhead and tank combo suggested by the LFS could slightly increase the probability of failure.
