    Love your tank!

Sorry my phone types what it wants sometimes

  • James…placement of the Matrix doesn’t matter.

If you want to do a refugium, make sure you watch this show.

  • Gene Savage says:

    Hi Mark,

what type substrate are you using?

  • Gene…Tropic Eden Reef Flakes

  • Mdwannabe says:

    Mark:

I live in Nashville; could we get together and talk about tanks?

  • Tom S. says:

Mark, how did you “dry” your live real reef rock? Just bleach it in the sun?

  • Rob Melo says:

Hey Mark great show can’t wait for more. Glad to see that your tank is back online and
Looking good. I noticed you dumped the swc skimmer for a hydor recirc. What made you decide on the hydor rather than another swc.

Thanks again for all that you do,

    Rob

    Hi Mark,
Is there a reason behind why you will not be creating a refugium on this setup? Can you elaborate a little more on your reasoning for that. Is it simply because you didn’t have the space or did you notice it was really more of a hassle to maintain? I’m starting a new tank and I was wondering if I should go the refugium route or skip it.

    Thanks

  • Danaysis…a refugium won’t do much for nutrient control until they are of good size compared to your tank volume. Given my tank size of 235 gallons, I’d want at least a 100 gallon refugium which isn’t possible given my space constraints.

  • Rob…I didn’t have space for another SWC and I wanted to try out a recirculating skimmer. I never had any complaints with my old SWC and still recommend that brand for peole.

  • Tom…I left it out in the sun for a couple of days.

  • Mike says:

Mark are you running the marine or pond version of matrix? I want to use this in my sump but I want to make sure that it will not fall through the egg crate shelf.

  • Mike…the pond version.

  • Ryan S says:

Mark, are you able to sell the TIR lenses yet? If so, can you email their price shipped to 22204? (I have 2 radions) Thanks.

  • Gary says:

Wonderful to see your tank up and running again! You mentioned you are a zoa guy at heart, think you will ever do a video about just them? I just took the first step into the coral world with a small zoa colony.
Thanks again for all the awesome videos!
    -Gary

  • Gary…hmmm…just a zoa video. I can see 50% of it being just eye candy shots!

  • Bryan says:

    Hello from Austin, Texas Mark!

I’m curious about your update on the matrix idea. I’m wanting to pull the trigger on something soon.

    Take care,
    Bryan

  • Nick says:

did you ever do the review of your new sump?

  • Lisa says:

How do you spell the name of that white coral you mentioned? I like it.

  • scruffbud says:

    Hey Mark
If I may ask, how was the Matrix working out in your old tank and are you using it in your new one??

    Hope all is well..
